We are pleased to provide here some usefull info for land auctions regarding Mainland Land in SL.

Our data cover all auctions from early March 2004 up to 9th of September 2007.This is actually the history of Land in Mainland.

To be able to make this analysis we gathered data from more than 10800 land auctions. These cover also auctions in Linden$ and US$ , and also parcels of all sizes. 

For the moment we present some analysis we have done on these data .

1. At first we present  the top 500 avatar names with most land won at auctions  . These data include all land won both in Linden $ and in US$.  There is also a graph of  first 15 avatar names

2 . We drill down a little bit and we find the top 500 avatars who have spend the most  US$  in land auctions, no matter the size of the land. In the same dataset we include the total land aquired by each avatar  and the number of wins (regardless the size and only in US$). A graph also presents the top 15 names

3. From the same dataset , we make an analysis on cost of land in Mainland  from 2004 to now, based on the price of auction. We present 2 graphs, the first shows the cost in US$ of a 512 sq. meters parcel through the years. The second one is the cost in Lindens per meter but it's based on the assumption that the exchange rate between US$ and Lindens have remained fixed through the years which is not accurate. The second graph is only provided for simplicity reasons and immediately gives a better understanding. In these graphs we have excluded some very high prices that occured for giving a better final picture.

 4. We provide the supply of land during the months and also another graph which shows the supply of land by month in relation to land price in L$/sq.meter (land price here is the average for the month auctioned price/meter).

The data for US$land auctions cover  more than 6.500 auctions out of the total 10800+. The remaining auctions are done in Linden$ and we still work on them.

Also to note that differences found on our data in comparison with Melina Looney's  Statistics page are due to

1. Changes of some of the winners of each sim after Lindens re-auctioned the sims that intial winners didn't claim

2. Dates covered here are regarding all auction history of SL

3.  We analyze data for all parcels auctioned regardless the size
